Hi Cam, The Free Supercharging is only available in the US. Canada? & a cpl of EU. Countries - I "think" (a Challenge I face Daily ! I've Never been asked to go to the Special Olympics tho ! Apparently "It's Not Rare enough !") Anyway, I'd say Scandinavian countries & Netherlands would be Most likely to have them, as they're very "Green" type Cultures and quick "Uptakers" of New Tech. I would like to say Dublin Tesla Dealership has, but it's a very Narrow band where E.V. Charge points are in Ireland. - Where I live, small seaside Town, pop:@8000 (Summer mnths @12000+) There's 1, yes ONE ! E.V. Charger in a Public Carpark - And Somebody with a Nissan Leaf Parks in That 1 Zone almost Permanently! Like it's Just for Them !! There's about 8 -10 E.V.s in Town, so I don't know Where they Charge, except At Home ! Which, with the Prices of E.V.s, the Cost of the O/p Electricity (even with a Wall Box and using Solar panels!) Can't make them Anything but "Status" Vehicles! Which, even now, you'd get in a Small Town with anything Hybrid, other than a Prius ! I feel a Rant coming ! But I Did Write to Both North & South Govt. Energy Depts, begging them to Invite Elon to Ireland to set up a Company here - which would allow Access to UK and EU. Our population is less than 8 million, the whole Island ! There are many Cities with Bigger populations all over the World ! But, though small, we're 1st.World Economy, Infrastructure and big Adopters of Solar & Wind powers. I think Ireland could have been used as a SHOWCASE for Countries & Cities Globally. But.... Feckin Politicians Aren't Even At Work in the North of Ireland ! Still getting ALL their Money and Allowances from the British Govt. ! Just not arsed to Work together !! Sorry! Rants over! And I wish you Success with your UA-my Channel, and with your Life going forward ! [✌Peace, 🖖Health💊, .💰Wealth & 😃Happiness 2ALL] .👍🚘 POD☘😉

10:35 yes she does add energy to the rotation. She doesn't add angular momentum, but when you try to pull your arms in, you feel a force acting against you. That's how you increasin rotational energy, by doing work against that force. From your frame of reference it's the centrifugal force.

    • Zoltán Kürti
      Zoltán Kürti

@The Tech of Tech I'm really certain the rotational energy increases.

    • Zoltán Kürti
      Zoltán Kürti

@The Tech of Tech this is copy paste from your linked website, it's in a grey box below of a picture of the ice skater (at least on android with google chrome): "Conservation of Angular Momentum: An ice skater is spinning on the tip of her skate with her arms extended. Her angular momentum is conserved because the net torque on her is negligibly small. In the next image, her rate of spin increases greatly when she pulls in her arms, decreasing her moment of inertia. The work she does to pull in her arms results in an increase in rotational kinetic energy."

    • The Tech of Tech
      The Tech of Tech

You have half the concept right. The kinetic energy is exactly the same. Rotation speeds up when she pulls herself tighter because of conservation of rotational momentum. The skater example is the most-used example for this concept that no additional energy is applied. Here’s a pretty straightforward explanation that includes the skater example: courses.lumenlearning.com/boundless-physics/chapter/conservation-of-angular-momentum/

    • Zoltán Kürti
      Zoltán Kürti

@The Tech of Tech I really don't see how what I said is wrong...

    • Zoltán Kürti
      Zoltán Kürti

@The Tech of Tech would you please explain? Neglecting friction, angular momentum theta*omega is conserved. When you pull your arm in, theta is decreased, so omega must increase, meaning you speed up. But rotational energy is 1/2*theta*omega^2, from which 1/2*theta*omega is constant because of the conservation of angular momentum, but there is one more omega factor in the kinetic term, which increased. The kinetic energy of the skater must increase. But my first reasoning was also perfectly fine. When you pull in your arm, you are doing work against the ccentrifugal force, and that work must go somewhere...

Actually, some crashed Teslas have suffered thermal runaway resulting in ciombustion. This video is poorly researched and this claim is wrong. Further, some of the features the video presents as "Tesla" are standard amd required features such as seatbelt tensioners. Not to criticize Tesla, but the presentation of this video.

    • The Tech of Tech
      The Tech of Tech

I never presented anything as unique to the Model 3 that wasn’t unique to the Model 3. Everything I mentioned combined to make the Model 3 the safest car tested by the NHTSA regardless. Also, you need to do your own research better. Not a single Tesla that burned due to thermal runaway was a Model 3, just like I said.

  • Unreliable Narrator 66

So, as long as the drivers don't use Autopilot, a Tesla is pretty safe, Or put another way, the Autopilot crashs would be worse in another design.

Great Video mate ! If Tesla Doesn't Employ you then they're making a Big Mistake! You're calm, sensible delivery, excellent use of Graphics And Information makes you easy to follow and the Tech Stuff easy to understand. You don't come over as an Over-enthusiastic Tesla fanboy, - who all seem to want to talk about How Fast or How Far - but Not How Safe ! I've been following Tesla a long time and, having been a Car Repair Pro., was always interested in Tesla's Safety aspects - especially regarding the Battery Packs (and more so when I heard of people salvaging Battery Packs to replace damaged ones !) Your explanation was Clear, Concise and Correct and your Videos answer possible Tesla buyers questions with assuring confidence. It was one of the things that really annoyed the hell out of me when News Channels, Everywhere it seemed! were reporting Tesla Cars crashing - while ignoring the other 1000's of Daily Collisions between vehicles that kill 100's Every Day in the States. Any of the Big Automakers would have sued for "Defamation" for making Their "Safe"? Cars - like Tip-over Broncos and Stopless Suburbans ! - seem like they aren't Safe ! (In as Much as the Govt. Requires & Regulates!) So Thank you Cameron for your Excellent Information on TESLA SAFETY ! And Good luck and best wishes for the future of your Channel. I had a full EV in Sydney Australia in 2006, but we Aussies are sooooo far behind. However, the roads have to be maintained, and it's the cars (both EV and gas) that wear the roads, so they should finance the maintenance. The ICE cars do it through gas (petrol) tax, and the EV's can do it through an annual fee tax on the registration - on top of the current registration fee. Easy as.

Wrong... I'm so PISSED youtube autoplayed this video and gave it a play. NTSHA never, EVER, said this car was the "Worlds Safest" they have ever tested. NTSHA ranks cars by safety ratings, this car is just as safe as any other 5 start rated car. No more safe, no less safe. Further NTSHA only tests cars in North America, so how could it determine what the WORLDS safest car is? Do you see how WRONG and misleading your title to this video is? But you don't care, your just trying to cash in on the Tesla Fanboy UA-my video revenue stream, I guess to pay for your TM3. Tesla Fanatics like you have ruined the brand for me which is part of why I withdrew my TM3 reservation. UA-my has been suggesting this video (and other TM3 videos) and I just keep scrolling past. I'm not sure I've ever searched or watched anything about the TM3 but because I watch other EV videos and news it still suggests them. /rant

The Tech of Tech Closed mind? Hilarious, you don’t know me personally at all. I’m the furthest from closed minded. Throwing personal attacks is the first line of defense for people that can not argue a point. I might have enjoyed the video if it were labeled correctly. You don’t have the authority to proclaim a vehicle the “safest” in the world. This is why UA-my is broken IMO.

    • Imola ZHP

The Tech of Tech YOU’VE MISSED THE POINT! The point is NTSHA has NEVER said ANY car is the “Worlds Safest Car,” so the title and likely the video (haven’t and won’t watch it) is misleading and incorrect from the start. TESLA, heavenly Tesla, started this crap about “safest car” and the fanatics (including you) have run with it as if it’s a scientific fact. It isn’t, PERIOD.

    • The Tech of Tech
      The Tech of Tech

Do you realize how ridiculous it is to say that all 5-star cars are equally safe? That’s like saying everyone who earned an “A” on a test is equally smart. It defies logic, especially as they are the ones that come up with the probability of injury score. If the score is meaningful at all, then it can be ranked. The NHTSA needs to say what they said because at the end of the day, they want manufacturers to pay attention to the star ranking as they see that as a bigger incentive to improve safety than being ranked 50th safest instead of 150th safest on a list.

The Tesla Model S isn't actually that safe. It only got 82% adult occupant protection score in Euro NCAP, and an acceptable in the IIHS's small overlap. Aswell as that the NHSTA don't even test for moderate overlap, so all Tesla's claims don't actually have that much substance to them.

The panels have 100% UV blocking and a very high level of IR blocking that is independent of the visible light tint. Visible tint is still very dark. Never had an issue with interior heat. However, you can set overheat protection to keep the interior cooler than 120 degrees all the time. Plus, you can start the AC to cool the car as you’re walking to it. Never need to feel hot in this car, and everybody that has ever been in our absolutely loves the glass roof.

  • SDav21
    SDav21

You can't say it's the safest if euro ncap and IIHS didn't even test it. The model s got 82% for front occupant protection. A smaller A Class got 96%. One of the highest scores ever. Small hatchbacks did better and they have engines. So many tesla fans and owners are mislead and talk about the ONE SINGLE NHTSA test. Engines DO NOT get pushed through the firewall. Look at other cars where the front is completely crashed. No engine intrusion. So stop spreading misinformation. Typical. Most cars have thick pillars. Tesla is NOT the safest. Maybe by NHTSA standards but certainly not according to Euro NCAP and IIHS.
